Japan Tobacco, a leading international tobacco product manufacturer, said on Thursday its subsidiary would suspend investments, marketing activities and plans to launch its latest heated tobacco product in Russia, citing uncertainty in the country.
“The challenges of doing business in Russia at this time are unprecedented,” the company said in a statement, adding that it would take some time to assess the long-term impact of the situation in the country.
This is the follow-up of another tobacco manufacturer after IQOS manufacturer PMI announced to stop marketing activities in Russia.
Japan Tobacco is the producer of heat not burn Ploom X, this move may affect the Russian HNB market.
